By the end of this journey you may believe that redundant is my middle name. Actually, forgetful is closer to reality. Another day in the books and another great day! I want to say this while it is on my mind. I never try to give the impression that everything in Cameroon, as it pertains to the church is hunky-dory. As with any individual congregation or the church in a country; there will always be problems as long as the church is populated with humans. I also realize that we get the cream of the crop at the seminar but it is so encouraging. I am convinced that bright days lie ahead for the church in this country. Oh; the men today were 96, the sisters were 78 and the afternoon class was 157. We will see if the attendance will climb tomorrow.
Let us to return to the morning:
Got up at 7:15 after another great night of sleep. I never take that for granted as I know many suffer from a lack of sleep. Lori slept great and Richard slept better than the night before. To my knowledge, he was not roaming the halls last night. We left around 8:30 and climbed machines. His class went very well and he is a really good teacher. I had no errands to run so was able to enjoy all of his class. I then had meetings with 7 brethren who are working in 5 village congregations. Our goal with these works is to strengthen the current members and bring in new ones. The reality, however, is that our overriding goal is to teach the children to love Jesus in such a way that when they are older and leave the village for the city, the Kingdom will grow stronger. These brothers work very hard and it is a pleasure to have fellowship with them. Below left are Vincent (the coordinator) and Henry, Surplus and Eugene. They are all doing a great job. After my meeting I climbed a machine back to the hotel. Had about an hour and was able to get some work done. We then walked to the hall this afternoon. Around 4 or so it started raining lightly. It didn’t amount to much except it reduced the temp outside which was nice. I spoke for about 1 ½ hours and then we broke into groups to work on discussion questions. Then a representative from the groups would give their findings. I did this last year and they really like it. You can see a picture of the hall this afternoon below. After the session closed we all climbed machines back to the hotel. Tonight, we ate in Richard and Lori’s room and my plate was fantastic. I thought about taking a picture of it but it might drive you to envy which is one of the acts of the sinful nature per Galatians 5. I will try to Skype Linda later. I think her test this morning is finished but I am sure she will not get any results. We are all doing well and thank you for your continued prayers.
