Here are some things that never cease to amaze me:
- The gracious nature of our Heavenly Father. 2) The joy in witnessing one born again. 3) The blessings of sharing faith with my Cameroonian brothers and sisters. 4) The sacrificial life of my beloved wife. 5) The blessings I have by being in the same family as you! 6)The fact that I NEVER get caught up! 7) The speed of the internet here as opposed to a few years ago. 8) How good a COLD Coke tastes in this country. I would add more but the clock is my enemy.
Pictures below: on the left are Jean Claude and Mary. He received his test results back and nothing is broken. Much of his problem stems from the 4 surgeries he has had in the same area over the past 5 or 6 years. Mary continues to improve and should have a complete recovery and we thank God for that. On the right is my wife’s favorite picture. I like it to but not as much as Linda.
Was hoping to sleep a long time but awoke at 8 and could not get back to sleep. Jean Claude and Mary were supposed to be here at 11 and they showed up promptly at 12:20. He said it was her fault and she did not argue. Don’t know if she was just being nice or if it was the truth. Probably a combination of the two. If you ever have an important engagement, don’t put Jean Claude in charge of picking you! While I waited for them I worked on a sermon and another PPT. Worked on my second draft of my trip report. Once they arrived he had to go across the street to see the doctor and Mary and I took a taxi to the restaurant. As you know; I detest taxis but I love Mary and that is what she wanted to take. Today, the traffic was not too bad so we made it OK. Had my final lunch with them. Mary and I had chicken and I asked Jean Claude if he liked the gizzard. Well, in this country only the men are allowed to eat the gizzard. It is a cultural thing and don’t know the origin behind it. If I was a Cameroonian, however, I would slip the gizzard to my beautiful wife and she would slip it into the trash can! Jean Claude and I came back to the hotel while Mary went to the market. Jean Claude has left to run some errands and I took a shower to be fresh for the flight tonight. I plan on Skyping with Linda just before I leave for the airport. I will leave at 6 with the departure scheduled for 11:55pm. Arrival is in Paris at 6:30 tomorrow morning. This will be the last blog you receive until the final one on Friday. Need to get a few more things done so will sign off. The Lord has truly blessed this trip and I am grateful to you for your participation.
