As I begin I think this will be a fairly short HOWDY. I guess time will tell. Have you ever noticed that when you want to sleep in and you actually have the time; you wake up early anyway? I could have slept till 9:30 but ended up getting up at 8:15. Slept well and had a good morning. Lucy came over at 10:30 to go with Ricardo and I to the Wood Market to shop for souvenirs. While we were doing that Jean Claude and Mary were at the doctor for both of them. Ricardo may be overweight for the flight home as he bought a bunch of stuff. I know that Lori is thinking: he is already overweight! He says he has gained weight on the trip whereas I usually drop a few pounds and think that is the case this time again. We came back from the market and dropped our stuff and headed to the restaurant. On the way down our lifter stopped. Fortunately, within a minute it started again. Several years ago Terry Harlow, Louise Clement, Louis & Linda Bassay and a couple we did not know were stuck for 38 minutes and did it get hot! We climbed machines and made it with no problems. I know I have told you this before but when I am on a machine I find myself smiling quite often. You have to see this traffic to understand it. We went to a nice restaurant tonight (generally do this once or twice a year) as a treat to our Cameroonian brethren. This is an Italian Restaurant and over the years we have dined on snake, crocodile, snails and many other wonderful things. Because I knew I would eat plenty tonight I limited myself to bread, French fries and ice cream. Lori Sutton had encouraged me to eat some ice cream and this was the perfect time. Ricardo asked them if they had any “sugar free” ice cream and they looked at him as though he had 4 heads (he actually only has 3)! Took machine back to the hotel where I showered and prepared for the evening. Jean Claude and I have been working on how to spread WBS in Cameroon. We discussed the seminar and he feels that it was very beneficial. We then took a taxi to the restaurant. Traffic was heavy and it simply reminded me once more of why I like machines. The picture on the left is of Mary and Lucy. On the right you see part of one page of the menu. My darling wife is very adventuresome when it comes to food and trying new foods. I do not know if she would have ordered: Guts (Tripes) in a tomato sauce or Guts coated with breadcrumbs. That would have been such a hard choice that she might have ordered both! We had a really great time and it was a real blessing for Jean Claude, Mary and Lucy. They had a TV monitor with lyrics to songs and Ricardo knew some of them. He attempted to sing but the four of us agreed that if we were to keep our supper in our stomachs; he needed to keep his mouth shut! Got a taxi back and the roads were light. When we got out it was time to say good bye to Lucy. She will head back to Mamfe tomorrow. I love that girl so much and she was such a blessing to the team. Took another nice shower and have doctored my eyes. Have to do that morning and night because I have Glaucoma and Cataracts. Neither is severe and I see fine. I will Skype with Charlie Brown and Grandma soon. Have a few other things to do and I will hit the sack. Tomorrow I hope to work on my presentation of the trip and my trip report. Have a few other things to do so expect a full day. We will go to Bible class at Jean Claude’s congregation tomorrow night. Neither of us is teaching so we will just enjoy studying, singing praying and being with our brethren. We continue to be blessed and thank you for your prayers.
