Dear All:

I am constantly amazed at how some of the “small’ blessings that the Lord gives us are actually much larger than we might at first think. You see, I have a new computer and the key board lights up. That was not a particular blessing in the States but a great one here where the lighting is low. Also, if the power goes out I will not have to hold a flashlight in my mouth as I type! I will be redundant and tell you that we have had another good day in Cameroon. I am amazed at the joy I see in people who have nothing compared to us. I have known for a long time that the wealth of America can be very detrimental to the cause of Christ. We find ourselves, too often, wrapped up in either protecting our stuff or getting more and more stuff.

Did not set the alarm last night and woke up at 8:15. Slept well and my ‘biological clock’ is now set. Fortunately, that has never been a problem for me. Around 9:45 a girl knocked my door and said our rooms were ready. I have the same one I had in October which is very nice. Not too big but has a good A/C and fridge. I had a nice cold shower tonight (I am supposed to have hot water) but it was fine. Now, you need to pray for me and my heart. You see, Jean Claude told me he would be at the hotel today at 10 and he arrived on time. I nearly went into Cardiac Arrest. I told him to be more careful in the future so he will hopefully be late tomorrow as my “ticker” can only take so much. We hopped on machines and went to the Post Office and then to a store to buy supplies for the seminar. I am sure I will go into more detail at some point on this trip about the machines. Suffice it to say that we had a great time meandering through the streets of Douala. Then went to a hamburger joint and had a good lunch. Mary joined us as did Martin. Oh, I got out of place; after the supply store we went to a new grocery store that is very nice and bought a bunch of stuff for the journey. I spent several hours unpacking and packing. You see, I keep a bunch of clothes and other things here so when I arrive, I need to go through and shift stuff. Then I met with the sisters below and had a good update on the work they are doing in training sisters how to teach. From l-r are: Mary, Glory, Gisele, Gladys and Pauline. They are doing an excellent job. Louis and Linda Bassay are still helping even though they are in the States. Louis is supposed to have the French translation of Noble Age 4 done and they expect it at any time. I am not eating tonight as I am still full from lunch. Don’t even think I will have a candy bar although that could change.

I decided to have my pictures have a true “international flavor” so I have a little Mexican boy on the left below. Actually that is Charlie Brown but he tells people he is from Mexico although that is only true if Dallas is in Mexico! I will Skype with them in about an hour. Will relax for a while. When I met the girls below they thought I had been knapping but anyone who knows me is aware that I only sleep at night. I did ask Mary Ethe how old she thought I was and at first she said 69 and then changed it to 79. Why she would think I was Teresa Blaisdell’s age is beyond me. Teresa is not only older than me but looks MUCH older! Thanks for your prayers.
