Dear All:

It was an interesting day and here is how it unfolded. Scheduled to load at 9 so I got up in plenty of time. Had packed last night so only had to put eye drop in and take some other medicine and get dressed. We left on schedule but the driver had to go to the Police Station to get a document. Traffic is very heavy in Bonaberi as there is serious construction. Oh, we wore seat belts which are highly uncommon. You will not be surprised that I had a well-balanced breakfast of corn, shortbread, ice cream and Orange Juice. If you have never had Shortbread it is chocked full with vitamins, minerals, calcium and riboflavin. That riboflavin is really important and I had 4 daily servings of such today! We had some rain on the way but nothing of significance. Driver topped out at 70mph as he had a working speedometer and I know how to calculate KPH (Kilometers Per Hour). We met the preacher in Nkongsamba where we will work tomorrow and he says they have 6 prospects. Please pray for fruit. When we arrived in Bafang it did not take long to realize that we had entered Africa. The hotel is nice but not like the one in Douala. No fridge but A/C and they have a working generator so all is well. I mentioned sacrifice yesterday and I have something else to pray about. I am nearly dying from COLD as the A/C does not have a thermostat so it is just going and going and going. We went down to a Super Market and the check-out was quite interesting. You go to a man who records on paper each of your items and the cost. You then take the paper he gives you to the cashier and she stamps you paid. Then you go to a security person who literally goes through your stuff and checks off everything and then you are allowed to leave. The hotel restaurant was extremely limited in their selection so I had steak. Very tasty but had the texture of the sole of a Nike! Will Skype with Linda and Charlie Brown in about 2 ½ hours. I have to be on schedule today as he needs a nap before church tonight. No pictures today so I thought I would show you a picture of the most beautiful football player in the world. The sweetest, too! Thanks for your prayers.

In Christ,

Jim Corner
