Dear All:

No pictures but hopefully will get plenty at worship tomorrow. We were scheduled to load this morning at 7:30 and we started at 7:15!!! It was raining but the hotel has a parking garage and we were able to take the van and load in a dry place. Took off and arrived in Bonaberi (a suburb of Douala) and got a few things for the journey to snack on. We had hard boiled eggs on the van and last night I had purchased a piece of bread and put Chick-fil-A mayonnaise on it and had a wonder egg sandwich. Had place an OJ in the freezer so it was nice and cold. Also ate a chocolate bar so that was a pretty healthy and well-rounded breakfast! Those who travel with me marvel at my strict dietary habits. It rained most of the way but not hard. There is a Women’s Seminar on the way and we stopped to say hi and they had us come down and greet them. They sang to us and it was very encouraging. Arrived in Kumba around noon and did not know until then if the van could make it to Ekondo-Titi because of the roads. The driver was informed that he could and we did. Definitely had some “slippery” moments on the way and my dear sister-in-law Ellen would have had a blast! We actually made pretty good time and arrived around 2:15. The hotel is called the Philrose Motel and is very nice. I have a good A/C (unfortunately not everyone does) and good lighting and plenty of space We met with the leaders at 3 and had a good time. As with all campaigns, we cannot get a good ‘read’ on what will happen from this meeting. We are working with 5 congregations and pray that the Lord will add to His Kingdom. They told several of us (me included) that we would need ‘rain boots’ tomorrow because of the serious mud. They bought me a pair so I will wear them on the machine I take with my ‘Sunday Shoes’ in my back pack. Our supper was scheduled for 7:00 and we started right on time at 7:45! Had chicken and rice and it was very nice. Only have cold water but that is OK. Oh, we actually have toilet seats so this is the equivalent of the Waldorf Astoria. I have a few more things to do and Kurt and then Stephanie are coming to my room for a couple of things. Will try to Skype but I think Linda is busy today so may have to settle for a phone call. We are all excited about being able to finally get to work. In essence, we have been traveling 4 days to get to this point. Please continue to keep us in prayer.

In Christ,

Jim Corner
