This was a great day! Got up at 7 after a good night’s rest. This is the dry season but it rained during the night and also had some thunder. When I first started going to Ghana in 1988 you might go the whole trip without seeing a single cloud! It has been cloudy all day but no rain. Jean Claude along with Junior (his son) and Nathaniel (his nephew) came to pick me and Louise. Martin had already picked Chris to go to Bonaberi. It was good to see so many familiar faces and the same will be true tomorrow. I taught both the Bible class and sermon. The class was about 40 minutes followed by 15 minutes of questions and answers. I wish we did that in the States. It is a good period of learning. The picture on the left below is of the assembly. As always, the one thing that stood out was the singing. After worship I met with some of the brothers who are involved in a village work that we sponsor. The only cash outlay that we give is transportation. They have some ideas for the future and will give them to me in writing in 2 weeks. Our goal with the villages is primarily to raise up a generation of youngsters who will help lay the foundation for generations to come. When I was going out of the hall Nathaniel wanted to carry my back pack and you can see him below. I think it weighed as much as him! Some of the little kids were enamored (Teresa, you will have to ask Ricardo what that means) with my hands. Specifically with my veins; it is as though they never saw an ‘old hand’. They had a blast poking my veins and watching them. Louise and I got a taxi back to the hotel. On Sunday the traffic is light but starting tomorrow we will be riding machines. Chris ate with Louis and his family so Louise and I ate in my room. Will wait a day or two to give you one of my great recipes. I think I told you about the Twix Ice Cream bars and the three of us had one so I am down to one. I am starting to feel sad!
I went over my class this afternoon; Jean Claude gave us our Seminar Booklets. He then came over to print some things as there is no electricity in his quarter right now. Linda Bassay came to do some stuff with Louise and then left her ID card downstairs. For them to come up to my room they have to leave their ID card so I fetched it and gave it to Louise who will give it to Linda tomorrow. I went down to Chris’ room and had a good 2 or so hour visit. He is really a great Christian brother and I am excited about his class. I just Skyped with Linda and she is well. Ricardo and Teresa took her to lunch which was very nice. I still have some stuff to do so I am going to sign off. Thanks for your continued prayers.
