Here I am again! Writing from JFK in New York City. Here is the day thus far: Got up at 6 and Bapp (my daughter) picked me up at 8. Traffic was heavy on George Bush but we made it with plenty of time to spare. Got checked in quickly and inside with no problems. I flew from Dallas to here and am scheduled to leave New York at 5 – eastern time so we will be boarding within the hour. I spoke with Richard earlier today. His flight out of Boise left at 5:25am and he had about a 9 hour layover in Minneapolis. Weather is cold both places but everything is on schedule. I ‘Skyped’ Linda along with Charlie Brown and Michael (two little kids she babysits) from Dallas and JFK. Was able to show the boys some snow and they thought that was cool. Actually, it is cold! Obviously it will be a couple of days before I can get you ‘African Pictures’. This past July our family went to North Carolina to see our oldest son and his tribe. The above picture shows us calm and happy as we leave and the one below is a result of being couped up in a vehicle with my sweet daughter. There is a positive and negative of riding with her: the positive is that your ‘voice box’ gets a great rest but the negative is that your ears are worn out after a while. Well, I will try to write some more on the plane and then send this, Lord willing, from Douala tomorrow afternoon your time.

We are presently over the Atlantic and about halfway there. We are running 30 minutes ahead of schedule and the flight from Dallas to NY was 45 minutes ahead. As any food connoisseur knows; airplane food is second to none. They must have renowned chefs doing the cooking! Enjoyed a great meal and watched two episodes of The Rockford Files. That series is a favorite of Rob Foster and Tucker Harding! In life we all are blessed in many ways and often we fail to thank the Lord for them. Oh, the ‘biggies’ are easy to be grateful for but often times the small ones go unnoticed I say that because this flight is not even half full and I have an exit seat with no one next to me. When I finished eating I was able to move my tray over and I have more room than I need. Certainly not a blessing that I have to have but one I am grateful for, nonetheless. I have also been going over my class, two other lessons I will have and a number of isolated things that I will do while in Cameroon. Also, because of modern technology I was able to receive 7 reports from preachers on my IPhone and I am working on them right now. The way this schedule is shaking out I will land in Paris at about midnight your time. It really is too early to try to sleep but I am going to make the effort. I am looking forward to seeing Richard and making the final leg with him.

As you can see from the picture below, I am in the airport in Paris. M46 is the gate Richard and I will fly out of. After I last wrote got about an hour of sleep and then did some reading. Landed with no problems and navigated the airport fine. You have to go through security when you get off the plane and I showed them my Pacemaker Card in French and they did the ‘pat down’. I would never put the words ‘efficient’ and ‘Charles DE Gaulle Airport’ in the same sentence unless you added the word NOT as the Charles DE Gaulle Airport is not efficient. Fortunately for me, I have a 5 hour layover (kind of a perverse use of the word ‘fortunately)! Richard is due to land at 8:30 but we don’t fly out until 11 so he has plenty of time. I am charging my ‘Cameroon Phone’ so it will be ready to go once I get there. I cannot charge it in the States because it goes on 240 current. We and the brethren in Cameroon are excited about the seminar. We are scheduled to land this afternoon at 5:25 and should be at the hotel by 7. Tomorrow and Friday will be shopping days for stuff for the seminar as well as making tons and tons of copies of different stuff. Tomorrow night I am meeting with some of the leaders of Jean Claude’s church regarding 2 village works that they are involved in and that we support in a small way. I have 20 or so meetings setup for the next 2 weeks so even when I am on break, I will be working. Am going to do some more reading as I wait for Richard.

Will make this fast as there is still work to do and I have had about 2 hours sleep in the past 48 hours. You can see that there is 7 hours difference regarding time zones. When Daylight Savings Time is active it is only 6. Oh, Richard’s plane landed over an hour ahead of schedule so he was at our gate by 8 or so. It was good to see him and we had a good discussion over many things. We got on the plane with no problems. Had exit rows but the seat width on the Air France planes is not as wide as on American. Not complaining, just reporting. Had another great meal and did a bunch of reading. Did watch one Rockford. Landed about 20 minutes late and all of our bags were here. It takes a long time for the luggage to come out. Hotel shuttle took us to the airport. Jean Claude and Louis met us and Linda, Louis’ sweet wife was at the hotel when we arrived. Ate supper around 9 and I have been unpacking. Just Skyped Linda and Charlie Brown. That is so neat. I still have some stuff to do so I am going to sign off. The trip here was as smooth as it could be and we thank God for that. We also thank Him for you and your prayers and concern.
