There are seven time zones between Dallas and Paris but we are currently over Kentucky. The flight will be 9 hours and the Captain said we are on schedule. I am scheduled to land at 9:30am Paris time and will have a little over a 4 hour layover. Richard and Lori will only have a bit more than 2 hours but it should prove to be no problem. Obviously, our main concern is that we take off tomorrow. The morning was busy as there is always last minute stuff to get accomplished. The cute kid below is Jose Luis Espinosa. It turned 3 this past December and Linda has babysat him since he was about 6 weeks old. I had to go to Kroger this morning so I took him with me. When his mommy comes to pick him up he runs into my office and we ‘hide’. The problem is is that she can see him and he always hides in the same place! Wonder what he will do without his ‘hiding buddy’. My son-in-law Dean (Bapp’s husband) picked me up at 1:50 and we headed for DFW. Arrived with no problems and I got in easily. Read the Dallas Morning News and USA Today while waiting to take off. I had an extra row seat which is really great but there is a bulkhead with 3 seats and no one was in them so here I am. I have electricity so don’t have to worry about my computer battery dying. I am feeling great as I just finished supper. For those of you who have been reading my blogs and emails for years you are aware of the fact that I am a ‘Culinary Genius’. The only rival to airplane food is hospital food and I really can’t pick one over the other. I have been doing some reading and I plan to watch a movie and then try and get some shut eye. Will write more later and hopefully will send this where you will get it late tomorrow afternoon. It is possible that it will be Friday before you receive it. Please show this to George and Elizabeth, Linda.

I’m back. First of all I want to say a big THANK YOU for each of you who prayed that the strike would not impede us. The Lord blessed us and we are on our way to Douala. Going back to this morning I was able to get about 4 hours of sleep which is pretty good for me. Landed with no problems and I was able to secure my boarding pass and get to the gate several hours early. I had checked and knew that Richard and Lori’s flight was a little ahead of schedule and they met me around noon. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 1:45 but it was closer to 2:45 by the time we took off which is par for this flight. Someone may have to translate ‘par’ for Ricardo Blaisdell as he rarely sees one! The airplane we are flying is different from the one originally assigned but I have a bulkhead seat so have plenty of legroom and no one in front of me trying to rest in my lap! There is a small child (I would guess between 1 & 2) but she is asleep right now and didn’t cry much. Had another great meal. One thing that I have noticed is that regardless of the airline the food is GREAT. I have been reading and will watch one or two episodes of Walker, Texas Ranger. Linda and I have found many positive things about old age and one is that you can watch reruns and they are NEW! We should land around 9:15 so it will probably be 10:30 before we get to the hotel. It is unlikely I will send this today. Will write some more before I send this. Thanks so much for your prayers!

I was so fatigued last night after I got unpacked that I did not even set up my computer. We landed at about 9 and cleared Customs quickly. My bags took forever to arrive but they finally did. Entourage was at the airport to greet us and we got to the hotel around 10 or so. Had a sound nights rest and will do some errands today. That is about all as we are fixin to go out. Thanks for your continued prayers.
