Howdy

Dear All:

Today was a rather discouraging day all around regarding the reaching out for souls. The total number of studies among all of us was only 4 with no baptisms. Both of mine were very difficult. I had one young man that was as bizarre of study as any I have ever had. I asked him if he would die one day and he said no. I figured that he had misunderstood so I repeated and he still said no. I asked him if he would be alive in 500 years if the Lord did not return and he said yes. He completely merges both physical and spiritual death. For example, in John 11:25 when Jesus says that the one who believes in Jesus will never die He is quite obviously talking about spiritual death. I can’t begin to tell you the number of times he butchered the Word. Each time I would show him that he had taken a text out of context he would start quoting other Scriptures that had nothing to do with what we were discussing. He said that as he gets older (I would guess he is around 30) that he will not age and will never have gray hair or wrinkles. Man, is he in for a surprise! The other young man was one who is on an emotional plane and while he was courteous, it was clear that he was more interested in defending his beliefs than following what the Bible teaches.

I woke up around 5 and got on the computer to see that the Mavs had won. It turned out that Kurt had stayed up until 2:30 in hopes that he could find the game. He finally gave up hope and learned about the game when I went and told him. We had devo in my room at 8am and Louis gave us the thoughts. Vincent went with me today as the congregation he was supposed to work with had no prospects and was not even interested in worshipping in the afternoon. Jean Claude came over and he, Vincent and I sat down with two brothers who were having problems with each other. We were able to help them solve their differences and forgive each other. We had another really good group this afternoon and we then came back to Bamenda. Vincent and I got machines and went to a grocery store to buy a few things. We got back and had supper. Kurt and Louis came late and I proposed that we wait for them but Jean Claude and Vincent out voted me so we forced our food down! I still have some stuff to do before I can go to sleep so I am going to sign off. We are all doing well and appreciate your prayers.

Love,

Jim
